Wolgast is a German town in the district of Ostvorpommern, in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, on the bank of the river Peene. On the opposite shore, the island of Usedom can be accessed by road and railway via a bascule bridge.

Visitors to the town can walk in its historic narrow streets and view buildings from both the Middle Ages and modern times. There are cellars, tunnels and crossways under the town even to the castle island.

Transport Links – If you come by train on the main line from Berlin to Stralsund, you have to change to a local train in Züssow.

Planes from Berlin- Tempelhof land regularly at Heringsdorf airport on the island of Usedom, very close to Wolgast.

You can also reach Wolgast by ship on the Oder- Havel canal, the river Oder and the Oder Haff lagoon.
