Mormugao or Marmagao (formerly Mormugão in Portuguese) is a city and a municipal council in South Goa district in the Indian state of Goa. It is Goa’s main port, located at the tip of a peninsula jutting out into the Arabian Sea. It is a 45-minute drive to Panjim. Close to Mormugao is the small town of Vasco da Gama.

Goa has more than its fair share of museums, art galleries and libraries. It is also famous for its beaches, ancient temples and churches. Goa has two World Heritage Sites: the Bom Jesus Basilica and churches and convents of Old Goa. Goa also has a the two important museums being Goa State Museum and the Naval Aviation Museum.
