Metlakatla is located on Annette Island in Prince of Wales-Outer Ketchikan Census Area, Alaska, United States. It is home to a traditional Tsimshian community and is the only Indian reserve in Alaska.
Visitors can walk to ancient village sites to see rectangular depressions in the forest floor villages once stood. There are three archaeological sites on the island and all are untouched. Also of interest are the many petroglyphs along the island’s shoreline.

Transport Links – It is a 30 minute flight from Ketichican to Metlakatla. Access is also available on the Alaska Marine Highway ferry from Prince Rupert in British Columbia, Canada, or from Bellingham in Washington, to Ketchikan, then on to Annette Island.
