Tahiti

Tahiti is the largest island in the Windward group of French Polynesia, located in the archipelago of Society Islands in the southern Pacific Ocean. The archipelago also includes the islands of Bora Bora, Raiatea, Taha'a, Huahine and Moorea.

The mountainous interior of Tahiti is adorned with deep valleys, clear streams, and high waterfalls. The coastal lands, edged with a rugged coastline, are home to fields of tropical flowers and most of the island's population. There are a wide variety of attractions to see, as well as a variety of water sports including deep sea fishing and scuba diving.

Papeete is the capital city and the administrative center. It has a busy harbor and offers resorts, spas, markets, sidewalk cafes, shops and a wide variety of restaurants serving Tahitian, French, and Asian cuisine.
