Arraial do Cabo is a municipality located in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro. The city is known for its glorious beaches, fine white sand and blue water, making it the most diving-friendly beaches in all of Brazil. The best beaches to see in this area are Praia dos Anjos (that's where the port is, too), Praia do Oven, Prainhas, and of course, Praria da Ilha do Farol.
Arraial do Cabo has two districts: Figueira and Monte Alto. Figueira is laid back and relaxed. There are plenty of peaceful beaches to spend the day at, as well as plenty of affordable restaurants. Monte Alto offers great nightlife.
Nature and botany enthusiasts will love Massambaba, a sandbank preserved by IBAMA, where the most rare and sought-after orchid flowers in the world grow.
