The Lighthouse at the End of the World, also known as San Juan de Salvamento’s Lighthouse. This is the oldest lighthouse in Argentina and the first lighthouse in history that was built on southern waters. Even though it was built in 1884, it was not until 1905 that it became known as the Lighthouse at the End of the World Lighthouse thanks to the homonymous novel by Jules Verne. At that time, the lighthouse represented the entrance to “the unknown” since the boats were entering Antarctica.
