Ronne, Bornholm, Denmark

Rønne is a town and former municipality in Denmark on the island of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea. This is the diminutive 'capital' of the island which boasts powder-white beaches in the south, picturesque fishing villages, 12th century round churches - and, at Hammershus Slot, Scandinavia's largest medieval castle ruins.

Rønne’s historic Gamle Stan (Old Town) is worth a visit to see its cobblestoned streets and brightly painted cross-timbered houses. The best streets for seeing old Bornholm are Laksegade and Storegade, plus the triangular sector lying between Store Torv and Lille Torv.

Towering over the small South Boat Harbor, on Harbor Hill is St. Nicolai Church, dedicated to the patron saint of seafarers.
