Nynashamn (Stockholm), Sweden

Nynäshamn is a town in Södermanland, Sweden and the seat of Nynäshamn Municipality, Stockholm County. It is situated at the farthest point of Södertörn. To the south is a beautiful part of the Stockholm archipelago, to the north a varied cultural countryside. There are almost two thousand islets nearby and the coastline is around 1,000 kilometres.

Nynäshamn boasts about 200 examples of prehistoric remains from the Iron Age. One of the best examples can be found at the Iron Age Building. Here you can wear authentic dresses, try your hands at Viking craftmanship, smithery and jewellery. The local Folklore Museum and Nynäshamn Church are worth a visit, as is Godsmagasinet, an arts and crafts museum with different exhibitons during the year. The Railway Museum has five steam-engines, two diesel-engines, 14 passenger coaches and 13 goods wagons which were all built after the turn of the century.
