Palau Island, Republic of Palau

Palau is an island nation in the Pacific Ocean, some 500 miles (800 km) east of the Philippines and 2000 miles (3200 km) south of Tokyo. It is one of the world's youngest and smallest nations. The largest city and former capital is Koror where the best souvenirs can be purchased. The new capital is Melekeok, located on the island of Babeldaob and is a pleasant drive from Koror.
