Bahia Solano, Colombia

Bahía Solano is a municipality and town in the Chocó Department, Colombia.
Bahia, as it is locally known, is a peaceful village which offers many opportunities to observe turtles, whales, sharks and dolphins. Evening is the ideal time to admire the artificial turtle-arium, the place where this marine species is protected until its release during the egg-laying season, which extends from September to December. Between August and October, boat rides to observe yubarta whales, sharks, and dolphins on their way north are very popular.

A popular activity is to travel upstream, first by canoe and then by foot, to the Cascadas River, where visitors will find crystal pools and small waterfalls; and to the Chadó River, which is famous for the huge pool it forms before reaching the sea.
