Lopez Island, Washington USA

Lopez Island is the third largest of the U.S. San Juan Islands. It is tucked away in the northwest corner of the state of Washington. It is a peaceful location with beautiful beaches, walking trails and parks. It is a popular destination for bicycle tourists due to its mostly flat rolling terrain.

Lopez Island boasts an abundance of wildlife, marine animals and birdlife. Amongst its many parks is Shark Reef Park, which offers long views west over San Juan Channel. It includes a half-mile trail through some old-growth trees. Spencer Spit State Park on the northeast side of the island is a long, low sandspit that almost connects to small Frost Island just offshore.
