Belleville is a commune of the Rhone department in eastern France. It is located on the Rhone River in the Beaujolais wine region, approximately 35min from Lyon.
Belleville is not a tourist town however there are opportunities for wine tasting at nearby Chateau de Corcelles-en-Beaujolais and the Earl Frederic Trichard Winery. In the town itself is the church of Notre-Dame and the Hotel Dieu which is a well preserved former hospital.
