Mapia Atoll is located north of the equator in the Papua Province of Indonesia. It is a remote atoll accessible only by boat. Visitors will be treated to beautiful soft corals and brilliant tropical marine life which live along the vertical walls which rise several thousands of feet from the ocean floor. Dolphins and killer whales can occasionally be spotted in the surrounding waters. There are three small islands that crown the reef which can be explored and visitors can meet with villagers on Pegun Island.
