Hopedale is a town located in the North of Labrador, the mainland portion of the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is situated on the northern Labrador coast, amongst the large bays that open up to the Labrador Sea. The population of the community is approximately 620, most of whom are beneficiaries of the Labrador Inuit Land Claim Agreement.

Transport Links - From the south travel to Labrador is by ferry from Newfoundland to Blanc Sablon Quebec. It is then approx 5 kilometres east to the Labrador border. The ferry may not be running during the winter, depending on conditions in the Belle Isle strait.
