Vytegra is a town in Vologda Oblast, Russia, located along the shores of the Vytegra River on Volga-Baltic Waterway 320 km northwest of Vologda. Vytegra has been known since 1710 as a village of Vyangi (?????) at the confluence of the Vytegra and the Vyangi Rivers.
A major attraction at Vytega is a submarine museum docked on the river. The main church and chapel are also worth a look.
