Volkach is a town in the district of Kitzingen in the Regierungsbezirk Unterfranken in Bavaria. The town was founded in 906 AD.
Volkach's main tourist attraction is its annual wine festival. Volkach's wine festival ("weinfest" in German) is the culminating festival for the entire Franken wine region. Other festivals here include the Herbstmarkt or Autumn Market (mid-October), the Gourmet Market (early April) that’s all about the food, the Summer Market (late June), and there are always concerts going on at the Marktplatz (Market Square).
