Manado is the capital of the North Sulawesi province of Indonesia. Manado is located at the Bay of Manado, and is surrounded by a mountainous area. It is the second-largest city in Sulawesi after Makassar.
Manado is famous throughout the region for its diving areas. The Bunaken National Marine Park is popular with divers, and is one of the finest Marine Parks in Indonesia. Manado also boasts beautiful beaches, shopping opportunities, the Ban Hin Kiong Temple and nearby lakes and volcanoes.
