Quan Lan Island is located in Bai Tu Long Bay, in Quảng Ninh province, Vietnam. Bai Tu Long Bay is part of an island range on the outside of the gulf of Tonkin. It features eight hamlets and kilometers of white sand beaches along two of its sides.
Quan Lan island is largely undeveloped. It boasts beautiful sand beaches fringed with cedar trees and bounded by rocky promontories. Swimming is safe here and there are opportunities for snorkeling around the rocky margins of the coves. Hiking up the forested hills provides good views. The town has a few temples but little else for sightseeing.
