Santa Cruz island is the center of tourism in the Galapagos. It is a large island with a variety of geology, vegetation and wildlife. The largest settlement area is Puerto Ayora which is home to the National Park Services and the Charles Darwin Research Station.

Dragon Hill is located on the far western extreme of Santa Cruz Island. Visitors will view wading birds, turtles, seabirds and sharks. The site is famous for viewing land Iguanas. An important nesting ground for endemic land iguanas, offering lovely views of the anchorage and neighboring islands.
