Talkeetna is a small town in Southcentral Alaska around 3 hours (by car) south of Denali National Park and Preserve. It is located at the confluence of three rivers, the Susitna, Chulitna and Talkeetna.
The downtown area of Talkeetna is classified as a National Historic Site, with buildings dating from the early 1900s including Nagley's General Store, Fairview Inn and the Talkeetna Roadhouse.
Flightseeing out of Talkeetna is popular. It will take you around North America's tallest peak, Mount McKinley (or Denali to Alaskans) is a short flight from this small Alaskan town. Visitors can land on a glacier at the base of Mt. McKinley and experience the excitement of standing among the great peaks.
