Cirebon is a port city on the north coast of the Indonesian island of Java. It is located in the province of West Java near the provincial border with Central Java, approximately 297 km east of Jakarta.

Cirebon is an attractive city which is known for its batik, now a flourishing industry in Trusmi village. The local seafood is among the best in West Java. Another specialty this city can offer the visitor is a wide range of seafood, probably the best in West Java.

Cirebon has two palaces Istana Kasepuhan [The Elder] and Istana Kanoman [The Younger]. Across the square from the Kasepuhan Kraton is "Mesjid Agung" (Grand Mosque), in a traditional Javanese style and made entirely of wood. There is an ancient royal cemetery where a holy Sultan was buried which has become a place for pilgrimage at the Astana Gunung.

Port Location - The Port of Cirebon's passenger terminal is located next to the bulk cargo wharves. The passenger terminal covers 1.6 thousand square meters.

Travel Links - Cirebon can be accessed by rail from Jakarta (Gambir Station or Jatinegara Station) you can take the Cirebon. It takes about 3 hours and 15 minutes. A more expensive but still very cheap alternative is the Argo Jati train.
