Capestang is a commune in the Hérault department in southern France. It is an attractive town situated next to beaches and the Regional Park of High Languedoc. The canal du midi runs along the top of the village where there are many colorful barges, bars and restaurants.
The village centers around a large pond and greens where old men play petanque. It is overlooked by a beautiful twelfth century castle and massive fourteenth century Gothic Saint Etienne Collegiate Church and bell tower on the hillside.
