Beziers is a town in Languedoc in the southwest of France. It is a commune and a sub-prefecture of the Hérault department. Béziers hosts the famous Feria de Béziers, centred around bullfighting, every August. A million visitors are attracted to the five-day event.
The town sits atop a rocky spur overlooking the great plain of the Herault departement. It is a good starting point for visits to the Haut Languedoc, a rugged mountainous region of pretty stone villages and cascading streams.
