Escommes is on the Saone side of the Burgundy Canal, France. It is located between Migennes to the northwest and Saint Jean de Losne to the east.
This once busy hamlet is now a quiet village with no shops and few houses. When the commercial barges were operating, there was much activity as the barges would have to be prepared for the passage of the tunnel. Escommes is a very interesting place for people interested in barging techniques
