Ancy-le-Franc is a commune in the Yonne department in Burgundy in north-central France. It is located on the Burgundy canal.
A highlight of any visit to the town is the Chateau of Ancy le Franc. It was one of the first Renaissance chateaux to be constructed in France. The elegant exterior of this 16th century castle conceals a grand Italian style courtyard and interior with several very grand rooms to visit, including some very good frescoes and wall paintings. Another place to visit is the excellent boulangerie in the village, they make many different sorts of breads.
