Pori, Finland

Pori is a city and municipality on the west coast of Finland. The city is located some 15 kilometres (9 mi) from the Gulf of Bothnia, on the estuary of the Kokemäenjoki river, which is the largest in Finland. It was founded in 1558, making it one of the oldest cities in Finland.

The riverfront in Pori has several prominent neo-renaissance stone building quarters, and the City Hall (with it's park) by Carl-Ludvig Engel is especially worth a look. The gothic-style Pori cathedral is also on alongside the river. Reposaari, the fisher/seaside village outside the city filled with picturesque wooden buildings on the seaside is especially recommended for summertime visits.
