Cabedelo is the port city of the larger metropolis of Joãa Pessoa which is located approximately 10km south. It sits right on the Atlantic Ocean, providing access to ships and controlling shipping since the city began in the 16th century. This is the farthest port city in the northeast of Brazil.
João Pessoa is known for its tropical beaches, modern architecture and historic buildings from colonial periods. It offers visitors many museums, theatres and historical sites.
