Manaung is a town and district in Manaung Township in Kyaukpyu District in the Rakhine State of westernmost part of Myanmar. It is situated on Manaung Island in the Bay of Bengal.
Manaung Island is mostly flat with tropical rainforest vegetation. The main economic activities on the island are farming and cattle raising. There are mud cones that emit steam and sulfurous fumes on the island, which indicate some volcanic activity.
