Steep Point is the westernmost point of the Australian mainland. It is located within the Shark Bay World Heritage site in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia. It is reputed to be the finest land based game fishing location on the planet. The narrow barred Spanish Mackeral being the most popular sought after species from the rocks.
The Zoytdorp (pronounced Zurtoff) Cliffs that begin at Kalbarri to the South and end at Steep Point, make for spectacular scenery. These cliffs range from sea level to 170 metre's high.
