Rishiri To, Japan

Rishiri-to and Rebun-to are two islands located in Rishiri District, Sōya, Hokkaidō, Japan. They are located on the Wakasakanai Coast and feature native wildflowers, spectacular landscapes and fantastic hiking. Rishiri-to is made up of a single volcano called Rishiri-san, which towers some 1719m over the surrounding sea.

Features of Rishiri island include Rishiri Island include:Cape Peshi on the East side of the port Oshidomari, Cape Senhoshi, Neguma (Sleeping Bear) Rock, Jimmen Rock, Ponmoshiri Island, Hime Marsh, Menūshoro Marsh and Otatomari Marsh.

Travel Links – To get to Rishiri or Rebun, take a ferry from the city of Wakkanai. There are also ferries directly connecting Rishiri and Rebun. There are about five services a day during summer, and this is cut back in winter.

Rishiri Airport is located in Rishirifuji.
