Walrus Island is one of the uninhabited Canadian arctic islands in Kivalliq Region, Nunavut. It is located within western Hudson Bay. The hamlet of Whale Cove is 24.6 km (15.3 mi) to the southwest.
This small, rocky outcrop in the northern reaches of Hudson Bay is a favorite haul-out for hundreds of walrus. Visitors to Walrus Island can marvel at the size and number of these massive creatures with their gleaming ivory tusks, so awkward on land but incredibly agile in the water.
