Sanlucar is a city in the northwest of Cádiz province, part of the autonomous community of Andalucía in southern Spain. Sanlúcar is located on the left bank at the mouth of the Guadalquivir River opposite the Doñana National Park, 52 km from the provincial capital Cádiz and 119 km from Sevilla capital of the autonomous region Andalucía.
Sanlucar is a sherry-producing town and a visit to the cellars is a popular tourist attraction amongst wine lovers. It is also home to the oldest horse races in Spain and some of the oldest in Europe. The races take place, just before sunset, along the beach at the mouth of the river Guadalquivir every August within sight of thousands of spectators.

Travel Links – Jerez airport is located 5km north of the city of Jerez. There are several ways of getting to and from Jerez Airport, you can use one of the Jerez Airport Taxis, hire a car and driving yourself, or catch one of the new airport buses that have just started operating at Jerez Airport. There is no train station at Jerez airport.
Sanlucar can also be accessed via train and bus from Seville.
