Attractions in Barth include the market square and St. Mary’s Church. The Gate of the dyke is the only one of the four original town gates that has been preserved. House No. 16" is a former merchant's house dating back to the 18th century. This historic building served as an urban city hall from 1870 to 1946. The Vineta Museum was inaugurated here in December 1997.
