Deboyne Lagoon

Deboyne Lagoon is located in the Louisiade Archipelago which is due east of Milne Bay province, Papua New Guinea. The lagoon has islands scattered through it and the colours of the water range from deep blue to a brilliant aquamarine.

Nivani is one of three islands in the lagoon, the other two have people living on them. The warm water conditions in the lagoon allows visitors to snorkel for hours. There is a wreck of a Japanese Zero fighter in 3m of water and about 50m from the beach, which can be seen from snorkelling over a coral reef with lots of fish and then snorkelling over the plane wreck.
