Laughlan Islands, Papua New Guinea

The Laughlan Islands are a remote archipelago of several low-lying coral islands situated off Milne Bay, on the eastern tip of Papua New Guinea comprising Wabola and Bolaluna Islands. Traditional canoe building is a specialty of the Laughlan islanders and you will find seagoing canoes in various stages of construction.

In Bodaluna village you can learn about the local’s subsistence gardening, fishing and participation in the Kula Ring of trading. It is possible to see turtles, groupers, wrasses and spinner dolphins while snorkeling or diving off the outer reef.
