Bitetos is located on the Douro River in the Douro Valley, Portugal. It is a small remote village surrounded by a unique landscape dotted with wineries.
Visitors to Bitetos can explore ruins and older sections of the village, which used to be a prosperous Roman village. There are medieval lanes and alleys and baroque churches which date back hundreds of years. One of the most commonly visited attractions in the Bitetos port is the Monastery of Alpendorada. This is a Benedictine Monastery that was built in the 11th century.
