Mahajual is a small fishing village turned cruise ship destination and the last frontier of the Mexican Carribean. Mahahual is the heart of the Costa Maya -- the section of coast running from the Sian Ka'an to the town of Xcalak, which is close to the border of Belize.
Majahual has a couple of small hotels, unpaved sandy streets and a few rustic seafood and italian restaurants, local handcrafts and dive shops. It is a relaxed destination, however when cruise ships arrive the tranquil town changes into a busy place. Mahahual (Majahual) offers beaches and active tours. Most tours are organized from the cruise dock.
