Punta San Juan, Peru

Punta San Juan is located to the west of the city of Nazca, Peru. It is an extraordinary marine ecosystem of great biodiversity; it has a large population of sea lions (seals) and penguins. The peninsula is characterized by its steep cliffs 30 meters high that hinder the access, from the high part, to the eighteen beaches that are formed at level of the reef.

Punta San Juan is located close to the famous Nazca Lines which are best viewed from the air. These lines are arguably the greatest mysteries of Peruvian culture. You will be able to see portrayals of birds, a monkey, an ant and a fish as well as other figures. Etched in the ground, these lines date from 100 BC – AD 700. Many are over 300 meters long and one is over 65 km long. You can also visit the Cantayoc Aquaducts and the Chauchilla Incan cemetery.
