Palatka, Florida

Palatka is a city in Putnam County, Florida, United States. It is a small sleepy town located on the banks of the St. Johns River, and is known as the “Bass Capital of the World”.

Palatka is a very colorful place to visit with more than 25 murals decorating the city. Many murals can be found along St. Johns Avenue, the town’s main drag. The downtown area has been beautified with globe streetlights, park benches and brick detail along the sidewalks.

Other attractions include The Art Shoppe & Gallery, the Bronson-Mulholland House and the historic Tilghman House, an artist coop gallery run by the Palatka Art League. The Larimer Arts Center hosts art exhibits and live performances.
