Risor is a city and municipality in the county of Aust-Agder, Norway, between Kristiansand and Oslo. The city belongs to the geographical region of Sørlandet. It is a popular tourist place. The surrounding area includes many small lakes and hills. It is known for its beautiful coastline as well.

Risor is also known as one of Europe’s best kept wooden house towns. It has an attractive u-shaped harbor with many fishing boats and yachts. The town is host to a number of internationally renowned festivals including BeyondRisør, the Risør Festival of Chamber Music, the Villvin handicraft market, a Bluegrass festival, and Risør Wooden Boat Festival.
