The group consists of Kadavu, Ono, Galoa and a number of smaller islands in the Great Astrolabe Reef. The island of Kadavu is the fourth largest island in Fiji, and the largest island in the Kadavu Group, its main administrative centre is Vunisea, which has an airport, a high school, a hospital, and a government station.
The Kadavu region offers activities such as sea-kayaking, sport and game fishing, surfing, bird-watching, trekking and village trips. It is well known as a scuba diving destination; the world-class reefs make Kadavu excellent for diving and snorkelling.
