Grimstad is a little maritime town and municipality in the county of Aust-Agder, Norway. It belongs to the geographical region of Sørlandet. The town is set among many small islands. There is a harbour, a long pedestrian shopping street, a small market square and a church.
A major attraction in Grimstad is Ibsenhuset (Ibsen house) and Grimstad town museum, in the centre of town is the oldest and largest Ibsen museum in the country (established in 1909). Visitors to the museum can learn about the poet Henrik Ibsen, who served as an apprentice to local pharmacist Reimann.
Grimstad also offers many interesting shops, outdoor restaurants, a busy wharf, museums and galleries.
