Kherson is a city in southern Ukraine. It is the administrative center of the Kherson Oblast (province), and is designated as its own separate raion (district) within the oblast. Kherson is an important port on the Black Sea and Dnieper River, and the home of a major ship-building industry. It stretches along the high right bank of the river Dnipro, this is the area where the Dnipro runs into many branches and forms many islands. Kherson Ukraine is situated on the plain territory called the Steppe.
Kherson has many parks and is one of the most green cities in Ukraine. There are quite a few urban parks including the Park of Lenin Comsomol, Lenin Park where the Great Oak of more than a hundred years old grows. There is also the Park of Glory which stretches above the Dniepro.
