Skagen is a projection of land and a town in Region Nordjylland on the northernmost tip of Vendsyssel-Thy, a part of the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark. Skagen is part of the top of Denmark, which is surrounded by the sea and the reflection of the sunlight in the sea provides some very special experiences of light and colour, making it popular with artists.
Skagen has wonderful museums offering you art, natural history and amber. The local history museum, the "Skagen By- og Egnsmuseum is an open-air museum showcasing the history of Skagen. Other attractions include the quayside, delightful beaches and the early morning fish auction.
