Cape Severo-Zapadnyi is located at the northwestern tip of Beringa (Bering) island, the largest of the Russian Commander islands. It is located 175 km off the coast of eastern Kamchatka and 49 km west from its neighbouring island of Mednyy. Beringa is the location of the groups only settlement, Nikolskoye.
Northern fur seal colonies and Stellar’s sea lions can be seen at Severo Zapadnyi.
