Kiribati

The Republic of Kiribati, is an island nation located in the central tropical Pacific Ocean. It is composed of 32 atolls and one raised coral island, of which 21 are uninhabited. It is sub-divided into three main groups known as the Gilbert Islands, the Phoenix and the Line Islands. The capital is Tarawa, an atoll in the Gilbert Islands. Bairiki, an islet of Tarawa, serves as an administrative center.

The majority of the atolls are barely more than six metres above sea level and surrounded by barrier reefs creating picturesque lagoons for a variety of water sports. Most attractions are located at Tarawa.
