Beauty Point is a town by the Tamar River, in the north-east of Tasmania, Australia. It lies 45km north of Launceston, on the West Tamar Highway. Situated on Port Dalrymple (the mouth of the Tamar River) opposite George Town, Beauty Point lies in the heart of a rich sheep, cattle and vine-growing district and is also a major fishing town. Beauty Point is also the oldest deepwater port in the area, it was developed to serve the nearby Beaconsfield gold mines.
Attractions at Beauty Point include a world first sea horse research and education centre. Platypus House is also a great place to visit. Nearby Greens Beach is popular, as is the Asbestos Range National Park.
