The most northerly of the Hebrides are Lewis and Harris Islands, connected to each other by a land bridge. Stornoway is the largest town on Lewis, a bustling and attractive harbour town busy with freight, ferry and leisure traffic, and home to a significant fishing fleet. A number of the streets in the centre are pedestrianised, providing good access to an interesting range of shops .
