Rothenburg is a town on the Romantic Road in Bavaria, Germany about halfway between Frankfurt and Munich. It is a well-preserved medieval old town, popular with tourists. It is situated on a plateau overlooking the Tauber River and is encircled by an undamaged 14th century town wall.
Rothenburg boasts picturesque cobble stone streets, high gabled and half timbered houses and many
gorgeous vistas of the Tauber river valley. A guided walking tour is a must and will take about 15 minutes from one end of the town to the other. Attractions include the Marktplatz and the Town Hall Tower, which offers the best view of the area. The Town wall also offers a good vantage point to see the town.
