Incheon City is a metropolitan city and major seaport on the west coast of South Korea, near Seoul. The city is divided in two by the Han River which runs east to west across the city. The Joseon-era historical core of the city, containing most palaces and government offices, lies on the north side in and around the district of Jongno, overlooked by the 262-meter peak of Namsan. The south of the river, known as Gangnam, is brasher and more modern. The island of Yeoui-do, in the river, is the closest Seoul gets to Manhattan with skyscrapers, the National Assembly and the Seoul Stock Exchange.
Seoul has a huge array of sights, from gleaming skyscrapers to graceful palaces. The ancient traditions and the rich folklore can be seen in its bustling markets, the Namsangol Hanok Village (an open-air museum with restored houses) and museums, including the Seoul Museum of History and the National Museum of Korea.
The city’s modern side can be seen at the Olympic Park and the World Cup Stadium. Sports enthusiasts can also indulge themselves in the Han-gang Riverside Parks. These 10 leisure parks offer everything from water-skiing and windsurfing to cycling and tennis, as well as more leisurely paced river cruises. The observation deck of the Seoul Tower is great for sightseeing, while the Jogyesa Temple and Bukhansan National Park are peaceful escapes.

Transport Links - Incheon International Airport, the main international airport for both South Korea and Seoul, is situated within Incheon's city limits. Seoul is also linked to several other major South Korean cities by the KTX bullet train. Every weekend approximately 2 million Seoulites leave the city, which goes a long way to explaining why the city has no less than five major intercity bus terminals.
Seoul Metropolitan Subway and the Incheon Subway systems are linked to one another. Seoul has nine subway lines, nearly two hundred bus routes and six major highways that interlink every district of the city with one another and with the surrounding area.
